Tongue in cheek

WhenPresident Bill Clinton gave his speech at the Democratic Convention he constantly put his tongue in cheek. Do you fill this was on purpuse, to say "do not believe a word I am saying?" Body language expresses what we really mean even though we might be saying something totally opposite. Was he and Hillary really there to support Obama?
